A practical, real-world look at Support Brokerage and the Self-Direction process. This workshop goes beyond the basics to explore what it actually takes to work effectively as a Support Broker while developing an organized, ethical, and sustainable brokerage. We’ll cover working with Care Managers and Fiscal Intermediaries, developing and understanding budgets, contemporaneous billing, maintaining strong documentation, managing your time and caseload, and navigating the everyday responsibilities of the role. Whether you're considering becoming a Support Broker or already working in the field, this workshop will help you better understand the process, strengthen your professional practices, and learn from real-world experience. Please note: This workshop does not provide Support Broker certification or replace training or requirements established by OPWDD. It is intended for education and professional development.
